In a near fatal collision of opinions between Fred McIntire and his bride of thirteen years the couple reportedly reached agreement on whether Fred had been, “a total jerk” during a dinner engagement with friends. According to those close to the situation, Sarah became upset when her husband shared confidential information about an undisclosed incident from their dating years.

"He knew that story would embarrass me!" Mrs. McIntire told one witness.

Early reports caused some to fear escalating tensions because Fred failed to claim responsibility for the attack, stating that he “thought it was funny!”
